Developer Supergiant Games' 2020 roguelike Hades is getting its sequel. It's an ambitious decision that raises the stakes while offering a deeper insight into family politics.

Each region offers a unique approach to the Underworld. Some are more accessible than others, but all provide unique challenges that separate them from other Roguelites.

Supergiant has also altered the gameplay in the early-access version. This has reduced some of the work required to obtain certain upgrades and makes it easier to move between zones. There's still a lot of work to be done before the game hits its full release however, the studio has made it clear that it's determined to maximize player feedback and keep working to bring Hades 2 to a perfect state.

Supergiant has a reputation for listening to its players and responding to any issues that pop up, which is evident in the way it's handled the early access version of Hades 2. Even though it's a long time before the full version becomes available Hades 2 already feels like an appropriate addition to your gaming library.

3. Hades 2 Beta

Hades was a roguelike unlike any other when it was released in the year 2018. The game has won many awards and is widely regarded as one of the best games ever made. With its deep story rooted in Greek mythology, tales of familial struggles and LGBTQ+ representation that feels natural and inclusive, it was no surprise that it resonated with a lot of people. Supergiant claims that Melinoe's appearance and personality will be akin to Zagreus even though the character is not an exact remake. The character is also based on an existing character from Greek mythology which the studio has adapted to match the story of Hades 2.
